CORE Education Trust makes key appointment to its leadership team

CORE Education Trust, sponsor of Rockwood Academy and Nansen Primary School, has appointed Birmingham City Council’s Emma Leaman to its executive leadership team.

Emma, currently Assistant Director of Education Infrastructure at the council, will join the Trust as its new Director of Strategy.

She will be responsible for developing and delivering the Trust’s partnership strategy in addition to managing its
expansion and development programme. Emma will also continue to strengthen the Trust’s values and ethos, working directly with CORE Schools to drive forward innovation and ensure the highest standards of excellence in all aspects of the pupil experience.

Emma said: “I am absolutely delighted to be taking up this fabulous opportunity with CORE after seven wonderful years with the City Council. The time is right for me to “go back to school” and help shape the future of this amazing Trust, working with partners, staff, children and families to grow an inclusive, innovative and inspiring education offer.

Adrian Packer, CEO of CORE Education Trust said: “We are thrilled with Emma’s appointment to the Trust’s executive leadership team. Her depth of experience within the city council and her knowledge of Birmingham’s educational landscape will be invaluable as we move forward to develop and evolve as a Trust.

“This appointment is a further step forward for the Trust as Emma will complement an already very strong team.”
