Jewellery Quarter Academy Students visit McCann Birmingham
On Friday 28th September, students from Jewellery Quarter Academy took the opportunity to collaborate with other schools in the community during a visit to creative agency McCann’s Birmingham office as part of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising’s (IPA) Advertising Unlocked initiative.
Advertising Unlocked saw sixty-six creative agencies across the UK open their doors to students to discover and experience the opportunities a career in advertising, media, and marketing communications can offer them.
As part of the nationwide initiative Jewellery Quarter Academy students were invited into the world of creative agency McCann’s Birmingham office.
They took the opportunity to meet the McCann team, discussing the skills and attributes needed for a career in the advertising and marketing industry. They also got some top tips on how to be successful in a competitive creative environment.
Sufia Parkar, Head of Talent, at McCann commented: “It is exciting to be able to welcome young people from the local community and provide them with a chance to find out more about the exciting and diverse career opportunities advertising and the creative industries offer.”
Thank you to all at McCann for showcasing the Creative Industries to our students.
