Rebrokerage of Perry Beeches Academies Announced
Today (Wednesday 10th January) Perry Beeches Academy Trust (PBAT) has announced the rebrokerage of its five academies to two new sponsors after receiving approval from the Department for Education. Perry Beeches The Academy, Perry Beeches I, Perry Beeches II, Perry Beeches III and Perry Beeches IV will join CORE Education Trust, with Perry Beeches V joining Ark. The transitions will take place on the 1st March 2018.
The four schools joining CORE have already been renamed and are now called Arena Academy, City Academy, City Academy Birmingham and Jewellery Quarter Academy. Perry Beeches V will be renamed Ark Victoria Academy.
Chair of the PBAT’s Board of Trustees, Pam Garrington, said:
“I am very pleased to be able to announce the rebrokerage of the Perry Beeches academies to CORE and Ark and to provide staff, students and parents with the clarity that they need regarding the future of these schools. The Trustees have been working with both CORE and Ark for many months and we are very confident that these trusts will provide our schools with a secure and exciting future.”
CORE’s Chief Executive, Adrian Packer, said:
“We are delighted to finally confirm that CORE will be the sponsor of these four schools from March. We are particularly grateful to the PBAT trustees and the Headteachers for handling this transition period with such great integrity. During challenging times, they have remained diligently focused on the quality of education and care provided to the children in their schools. They have also worked collaboratively and enthusiastically with us to ensure we continue to put the students and their families at the centre of our decision making as we move towards an exciting new chapter for these schools.”
Like the predecessor schools, under CORE and Ark the academies will remain non-selective, non-denominational and mixed schools. Current pupils and staff will automatically transfer to the new schools on the 1st March 2018.
